This last weekend we drove my husband’s mother down to Pasadena so she could visit an old friend. While we were there, we drove around to see the jacaranda trees in bloom. I had never seen this tree blooming before – such lovely purple blooms all up and down the streets with carpets of dropped purple on the streets and roofs.
On Sunday morning, we attended the flea market at the Rose Bowl. It is held on the second Sunday of every month and has thousands of booths and crowds of people. We went very early to avoid most of the crowds, and walked and walked and walked. You would have to have tremendous stamina to see all of it, but we just went to the antiques section.
I didn’t see much sewing stuff until we were on our way out, then found a nice little booth selling trims and vintage patterns. Here’s what I got, some embroidery transfers and two sewing patterns. The whole purchase was less than $20. The flea market was quite an experience, but I feel tired just thinking about how huge it was.
