Now that the bustle and hassle of the holiday is over, I can get back to my sewing. Actually, I have been busy sewing all along, but forgot to take pictures of several finished projects. The gray/gold top is done and now in M’s closet, the pleated skirt is done, and two pairs of pajama pants are done. I did remember to take a picture of the latest pair of flannel pajama pants:
I had a lot of trouble with the pattern for these pajama pants, and this is the third and successful version. I used a unisex pattern and it was just huge through the hips and thighs. I altered that pair two times, making it smaller and smaller until I was really sick of looking at that flannel, so I declared them as good as they were going to get and sent them home with M. Then I worked hard to alter the pattern and made this black and white pair. M was very pleased with the fit, so I can finally start mass producing them and the pattern will be a TNT pattern for her. Sometimes I make a pajama set with a top and pants, but since the girls are just as happy to wear cute pajama pants with a T-shirt or tank top, sometimes I just make the pants.
In other sewing news, if you know a little girl who enjoys being a princess and wearing princess dresses, here is the perfect pattern:
My husband surprised me with a serger for Christmas, so I have to take lessons at the shop since I have never used one before. Now I have two machines to learn how to use in this new year, the serger and the old embroidery machine my sister-in-law gave to me last year.
