I am starting the new year off with some new sewing books and new patterns.
The fitting book is a present from my wonderful sister, and the Dorothy Moore book was found at the local used book store. I am going to try drafting a sloper for fitting purposes.
My favorite new pattern is McCalls 5594, that apple green jacket in the front row. M likes the version with the short puffed sleeves. I also found a copy of one of those Singer Reference Library books on Tailoring at the last library booksale, so I have no excuses about sewing that jacket for A.
I haven’t actually started sewing anything yet, since my first project was going to be that pale blue T-shirt for A, but I mislaid it when I cleaned up my sewing machine area. Just goes to show that organization is not necessarily your friend. Anyway, I found it yesterday, so on with the sewing.
