I used Butterick pattern 4148 to make a purse for my SIL for Christmas. The handbag was fairly easy to sew and looks like it would be a good purse to use for traveling, since the zipper is in a different position from what you would expect, so the contents of the purse would be more secure.
I made View A, and I used a tropical print upholstery fabric and heavy interfacing.
We wanted to make a necklace to coordinate with the purse, so M made the following:

I was pleased with this Butterick pattern, except that the instructions for inserting the lining into the handbag were not very good, and the illustration wasn’t very clear, so I had to figure it out for myself.
I am still sewing Christmas presents, but all of the big stuff is now finished.
